2025 – Red Mass and Dinner
You are cordially invited to the 2025 Red Mass where we seek divine guidance and support for the legal and judicial work and services rendered on behalf of Albertans.
The Mass will be concelebrated by Father Paul Kavanagh, Archdiocesan Administrator of Edmonton, and Most Reverend
David Motiuk, Bishop of the Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy of Edmonton. We not only invite Catholic judges and lawyers to the Red Mass, but also welcome and encourage attendance by those of all faiths and walks of life.
The service will be held Thursday, October 23, 2025 at:
Santa Maria Goretti Parish,
9110 – 110 Avenue
4:30 p.m. – Gowning (encouraged)
5:00 p.m. – Red Mass
Following the Mass, you are also invited to attend a dinner at the parish's adjacent hall.

2025 – Feast Day of St. Thomas More
Since the Feast Day of St. Thomas More falls on a weekend this year, members of the Guild will gather at 7:15 a.m. Mass on Monday, June 23, 2025 at St. Benedict Chapel.
St. Benedict Chapel is located at 225a City Centre East Mall, 10205 – 101 Street, Edmonton. Please join Rev. Tesfu Kelati and us if you can.
Red Mass - Fall 2017
We are pleased to announce that the date and location of the 2017 Red Mass, marking the 30th anniversary of the revival of the Guild, have been set:

With Most Reverend Richard Smith, Archbishop of Edmonton, and Most Reverend David Motiuk, Eparch of Edmonton, as concelebrants
Time: 5:00 p.m. (Optional Gowning at 4:30 p.m.)

With Justice Jean Côté (Alberta Court of Appeal) as keynote speaker
Time: 6:30 p.m. (reception) and 7:00 p.m. (dinner)

2023 – Red Mass
The 2023 Red Mass was held October 10th, 2023 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of the First Peoples. It was celebrated by Archbishop Richard Smith.
A tribute dinner was held celebrating the Honourable Mr. Justice Kevin Feehan, Court of Appeal of Alberta, at Fairmont Hotel Macdonald.
Information about the 2024 Red Mass will be posted here in summer 2024.
2020 – Annual Red Mass
The 2020 Red Mass celebration has been cancelled as a result of the impacts of COVID-19.
Archbishop Richard Smith has provided a message of hope for us all.
